    Description

    Japanese Zero Kamikaze Pilot
    This is a nice
    reproduction of an original WWII  photograph of  Japanese A6M Zero kamikaze pilot named Shinichi Ishimaru.  He was a professional baseball player before the war, and entered service in 1943.  He was eventually assigned to a Special Attack (Kamikaze) squadron and tasked to attack US Navy ships off Okinawa.  On May 11, 1945, as he flew towards the US fleet on his final mission, he was shot by US Navy fighters.
    Size of photo is about 4" x 6" .
