    was a fleet
    aircraft carrier
    of the
    Imperial Japanese Navy
    which served during
    World War II
    . She was commissioned on 6 August 1944 and eventually torpedoed and sunk by US submarine
    USS
    Redfish
    (SS-395)
    in the East China Sea on 19 December that same year. The name Unryū means literally "cloud dragon."
