You’ll find both RCA and TOSlink inputs for S/PDIF signals, and the RCA input can also be configured for AES3-ID digital audio. Practically any type of audio file format can be played back via USB, including high-resolution DSD audio files using the DSD over PCM (DOP) protocol. DSD audio is supported at the original bit rate (DSD64) and at double the original sample rate (DSD128).

On the rear panel of the Prism Sound Callia Reference DAC, you’ll find a set of DIP switches for tailoring its operation to your needs. One switch allows you to enable line volume control, or disable it — if you’re using a downstream control for volume. The second switch adjusts the DSD headroom, useful when working with “hot” DSD streams. Switches three and four optimize the headphone amplifier for different headphone impedances, ensuring that you’ll enjoy rich lows, detailed mids, and airy highs no matter what type of headphones you use.
