ACOUSTIC RESEARCH AR AMPLIFIER MODEL AU DRAWINGS AND TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE;ONLY

This is one package of trouble shooting aids for use in the repair of the original AR Amplifier, Model AU. This includes a 24 x 36 inch schematic, a color photo of a typical interior and a color photo of an interior with part designation tags and a symptom/fault matrix.
A handy set of aids based on our over 16 years of experience repairing and restoring these amplifiers.
Note: we are only continuing to repair these for existing customers. We have only one engineer on staff and are very busy with other tasks.
Note: although the amplifier portion of the Receivers is this amplifier, the part numbering on the schematic is changed due to the many additional parts of the Receivers.
The AR Amplifier, and associated Receivers, R & W are great pieces of Vintage Stereo gear. The design is elegant and it is comprised of all individual components and no specialized intergrated circuits (excepting some of the Receiver FM circuitry). The specs are great and there hasn't been one that came into our shop that couldn't be repaired.
If you are attempting to repair one of these amplifiers, you will appreciate this large schematic vs. trying to read the small fold out in the manual. We have this hanging over our test/repair bench.
Even with the large schematic, it is extremely handy to be able to locate key components within the chassis. We generatated this component location photo years ago to assist with our repair efforts. Component layouts for the circuit boards can be found in the service manual.
We have also generated a multi-page symptom/fault matrix based on our experience repairing many of these and many of the AR Receivers, model R and W. We can't guarantee you wont need some technical skill to perform your trouble shooting but we hope this will shorten the time to get to the root cause of the problem.
Although this is all you should need to make a repair, you should have the full manual to make necessary upgrades and factory adjustments and parts locations for the printed circuit boards. The AR ELECTRONICS SERVICE MANUAL can be found in our Dept. MANUALS.
